About The Role
We are seeking individuals to join as a 1L Legal Intern to support the legal and advocacy initiatives aimed at protecting the legal interests of our company at regulatory agencies, court jurisdictions, and administrative law and public policy venues within the energy industry. To provide legal, policy, and compliance research and support for a myriad of matters, the candidate will engage with teams from the development, asset management, commercial operations, environmental, and safety functions within the company. This person will gain valuable insights into the dynamic business of battery storage.



Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and draft memos on various legal issues.
  • Support the legal and policy team in managing regulatory and administrative legal matters.
  • Participate in meetings and provide legal insights to different departments.
  • Collaborate on special projects and present findings to senior leadership.

Who You Are
  • Currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in renewable energy and battery storage and related policies is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

 
$30.00 per hour40-hour work week

Location is flexible; option to work-from-home with periodic office visits for in-person engagement or to work from company offices in Newport Beach. Willingness to be remotely based and ability to travel to company offices and project sites.
